This is the first installment of Soundscapes | Music For The Voyagers!
Don't be fooled by the old-school cassette, we'll go far beyond the oldies!
I do prefer some old-school approaches, though, when they add substance to our everyday experience.
What do I mean?
We may have the world available at our fingertips—and this is undoubtedly a big thing, but we are lacking intentionality.
Those of you, who have been lucky enough to have used a pen to wind back a cassette, probably get what I mean.
You would need a whole weekend and maybe even a whole week to produce a high quality mixtape for your college crush or your besties.
Then, the listening was equally intentional. It was a ritual.
Preparation, engagement, integration, transformation.
Of course, no one was thinking about it in those terms back then, but everyone would appreciate the storytelling, the connection, and the experience that a really fucking awesome mixtape would bring!
I say no more, for now. You get what I mean. You came here for the music after all!
The what and the how
Soundscapes will be coming out once a week.
Playlists will be in the 40-70min. range.
Ideally, listen in the prearranged order—or not. Whatever 😎
More ideally, turn up the volume, so that the neighbor will come over to join the party!
Whenever it gets to you, move your damn body!
