First of all, welcome!
This is a “Coming Soon” post and an experiment altogether.
Why an experiment?
Well, it seems to me, in this evolving Substack-verse, nobody actually knows what they are doing. You know, like in Life. —Ok, a few might know pretty well indeed—
So I thought, why not?
I'm with the ones that don't know. I do have a sense though, and for sure, I’m following it!
Let me explain further.
While on the fence about Substack for several months, the moment came when I decided to proceed. I won't bore you with all the social media decline and such. You know all this.
The critical point was —and always is— the decision. The liberating, hard, from-deep-down-in-the-gut decision. After the decision was made, the path opened up. Not a lot, just enough to see ahead to the next turn.
And so I set off to actually build this interesting and unknown Substack thing.
Exploring, writing, building, editing, brainstorming, adjusting, and so on. Not with a deadline lingering, but in a relaxed manner and with a firm intention. Like zone 2 cardio. You’ve got this!
Then, the intriguing concept of “build it in the open” arose before me, and with it, a shadow of fear that had escaped my decision’s icy-sharp teeth. Hey, maybe this is new to me, but I'm an old dog. Head-on into the fog, I went.
Don't you worry, patient reader, I'm not pulling this any longer. The fog dissolved, and I'm alive!
My invitation had to do with a comp subscription after all. And to this experiment we're getting. Here, now, into the present.
Why a complimentary yearly subscription?
I came here with no mailing list. Zero. Currently, my “writer dashboard” informs me that Emerge Deeper has a total of seven —yes, 7— subscribers. Me and my brother included. You are laughing ahh? So do I, and I enjoy it too!
But be no fool, it's all part of a master plan. A plan so masterfully master, that even I, can't really make sense of.
Okay, I'm joking obviously, but the truth is, I don't have everything mapped out. I do have, though, a sense of direction and several phases of something that, in my mind only, translates into “growth strategy”. And here we are in Pre-launch: Phase One. Some of you are dying for all these technicalities, I'm sure. But sorry, we are not going there now. Let's keep a wide perspective and stay in the present. The proof is in the pudding!
